The funeral service celebrating the life of Gerald "Jerry" Dashow will be on Friday, May 3, at 12:00 p.m. at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel, 1865 Hwy 61 South in Lake City, MN with Rev. Dr. Scott Fiege officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Lunch will follow the funeral, with interment afterwards at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
Gerald "Jerry" Dashow, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the age of 79 at Emerald Crest in Burnsville.
Jerry was born on November 24, 1939 in Rochester, to Gordon and Evelyn (Baddgor) Dashow. He attended school in Rochester, graduating from Rochester High School. Jerry worked 32 years in progressive roles for Northwestern Bell Telephone, while living in Rochester, Owatonna and Apple Valley, MN. After retirement from the Bell system, Jerry went to work at Dakota County Vo-Tech in a para-professional role. Jerry enjoyed coaching his sons in sports, playing softball and was an avid golfer. During their retirement together, Jerry and Kathy enjoyed traveling and took many trips to Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Kathy (Lyke) Dashow, his brother Chuck (Dianne) Dashow, Brothers in law/Sisters in law; John Caffes, Richard (Theda) Lyke, Betts (Jerry) Potter, his 5 children; Marty Dashow, Dave (Pannah) Dashow, Diane (Lowell) Geske, Elizabeth (Mike) Jones, Sherry (Bob) Caldon, his 5 grandchildren; Amber (Chris) Orr, Eric Dashow, Danielle (Jason) Waage, Jenna Dashow, Alyssa (Dave) Walsh, 6 great-grandchildren and special friends, Ali & Lindsey Hatoum. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon & Evelyn, and his sister, Darlene (Dashow) Caffes. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Jerry's longtime friend and physician, Dr. Thomas Davin, (Nephrologist) and the Abbott Northwestern Hospital Kidney Transplant Team. Memorials are preferred to Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation.
