The funeral service for Harold Rankenburg will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 8th, at First Lutheran Church in Lake City, with Pastor Duane Holst officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City, with Military Rites by the Millville Valley American Legion Post #579.

Mr. Rankenburg, 79, of Millville, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his home in rural Millville.

Harold Rankenburg was born July 17, 1935 in Rib Lake, Wisconsin to Guenther and Emily (Wiegel) Rankenburg. He attended rural school at Bremen. Harold served his country in the US Marines from April 26, 1957 to April 15, 1959. On June 25, 1960 he married Joan Behling at Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Harold spent his lifetime in the Millville area where he farmed. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting, and especially loved to attend his grandkids activities. Harold was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lake City, a 25 year member of the Millville Valley Legion Post #579, and a member of the Teamsters Labor Union.

Harold is survived by his two children, Brenda (Brian) Rucker of Pine Island, and Steven (Lynn) Rankenburg of Millville; five grandchildren, Ashlee (Jesse), Cody (Erin), Colin, Derek, and Emilie; three great-grandchildren, Laycee, Alexa, and Amelia; special friend, Lorraine Heitmann of Lake City; and one brother, Bernhold (Yoli) Rankenburg of Napa, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan on April 16, 2007, one sister Trudy, and one brother Haldor.

Friends and family may visit from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Monday.
