A Celebration of Life Gathering for Heidi Hoekstra will be held on Saturday, June 24, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Plainview American Legion Club, 215 3rd Street in Plainview. In addition, friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview. Memorials are preferred.
Heidi Jean Hoekstra, 42, of Rochester, passed away Monday evening, June 19, 2017 as the result of a motorcycle accident in Southeast Rochester. She was born November 1, 1974 in Rochester to Thomas Hoekstra and Barbara (Craig) Haner. She attended Plainview Community Schools graduating in 1993. Heidi went on to the Minnesota School of Business and received her Bachelor's Degree. In September 2003 she married Rob Young in Plainview and was later divorced. Heidi lived her lifetime in the Plainview and Rochester areas.
Heidi was a self-employed Mary Kay business owner for several years, and also worked at Mayo Clinic in Rochester for 15+ years. She enjoyed interior decorating, doing landscaping, especially enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, boating and inner tubing. Heidi loved motorcycling and walking.
Heidi is survived by her mother, Barbara (Darryl) Haner of Chatfield, and her father, Thomas (Lisa) Hoekstra of Plainview; one sister, MaryAnne Hoekstra, and her husband Kiran Shekar of New York, NY; her boyfriend/life partner, Tony Lisko of Rochester and his children, Sam and Sarah; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends and her cat, Dyna. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
