The Mass of Resurrection for Helen J. Tighe will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Patrick Kennedy officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Lake City.

Helen Jean Tighe, passed away Monday morning, July 9, 2018 at her home at The Bluffs of Lake City Senior Living.  She was born November 8, 1926 in Sioux City, IA to William and Ethel (Nyberg) Krommenhoek.  Helen then attended Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago in 1949.  On January 7, 1956 she married Louis Tighe in Sioux City, and they farmed in the Lake City area from 1963 - 1993.  They moved into Lake City in 1993.

Helen was employed as a Registered Nurse for 50 years working at the Lake City Hospital, and then at the Lake City Nursing Home.  She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church.

Helen is survived by her children, Joseph (Pat) Tighe, Sr. of Red Wing, and Lou Anne Tighe of Minneapolis; 4 grandchildren, Joseph (Amanda) Tighe, Jr., Amanda (John) Smizek, Yousha Tighe, and Louie Tighe; and 4 great-grandchildren, Alyssa Tighe, Kylie Tighe, Maxwell Smizek and Colton Smizek.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis, and daughter-in-law, Lori.

Friends and family may visit from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday until the time of service at the church.
