Obituary

James Joseph Beaulieu, 59, of Plainview, MN passed away unexpectedly reeling in what would be his last walleye.

Jim was born October 2nd, 1963, to Joseph and Joan Beaulieu of Elk Mound, WI. Jim graduated from Elk Mound High school in 1982 where he played football and baseball. He was a natural athlete even with his short height and continued playing softball with the F-Troop team for many years. Jim married Camille Miller in 1983 and raised their two children, Kyrah, and Jason in Elk Mound. Jim and Cami later divorced in 2011. Jim remarried in October 2016 to Mary Funke, where he welcomed her two children, Tanner, and Tamika, with open arms. Jim spent many years coaching and cheering for all the sporting events for his children. Jim was a house painter for over 35 years and running his own business. In 1997, Jim donated one of his kidneys to his brother Joey Beaulieu, which resulted in saving Joey's life.

Jim lived out the life of dreams of his fellow outdoorsmen and friends. He was the most dedicated hunter and fisherman, of which started at a very young age. He spent many years growing up hunting, fishing, and camping with his parents, brothers, and cousins. Jim was a notorious Mississippi River walleye fisherman, whether competing in tournaments or for fun, the river was like a second home. Jim enjoyed his guiding business in Colorado for several years helping other hunters fulfill their dreams. It is said by his family and friends often that no one could walk faster or know the woods better than Jim. Jim and Mary spent many days on the Mississippi and throughout the state in pursuit of walleyes. His wife and children take great comfort that Jim died doing what he loved most.

Jim is survived by his wife Mary of Plainview, MN, his daughter Kyrah (Kevin) Klika of Chippewa Falls, WI, son Jason (Courtney) Beaulieu of Colfax, WI, son Tanner (Nicki) Harcey of Plainview, MN, and daughter Tamika (Avery) Harcey of Oakdale, MN. His grandchildren Kannon & Kinleigh Klika, and Ava, Avery, and Beckett Beaulieu. He is also survived by his brother Joey (Jane) Beaulieu, his mother-in-law Joyce Funke, brothers-in-law Robert (Marlene) Funke, Richard (Lesa) Funke, sister-in-law Susan Funke, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Joan Beaulieu, older brother Larry Beaulieu and father-in-law Budde Funke.
