James Hagedorn, Jr., 57, of Lake City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, November 28, 2016 at his home. James was born February 3, 1959 in Lake City to James and Helen (Blattner) Hagedorn, Sr.

James worked in the family business all of his life. He enjoyed camping, fishing, four wheeling, building model cars, and pool league. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog, Rocky.

James is survived by his loving wife, Maymie Hagedorn of Lake City; one daughter, Danielle of Carter Lake, IA; one son, Parker of Carter Lake, IA; one step-daughter, April Thompson of Lake City; and one step-grandson, Donavin Thompson of Lake City; his mother, Helen Hagedorn of Lake City; one sister and three brothers, Janet (Dale) Barghusen, Jason (Julie) Hagedorn, Arnold (Mary) Hagedorn, and Michael Hagedorn, all of Lake City; and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, three uncles, and one aunt.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, at the Lake City VFW.
