James "Jim" Raymond Ohm, Sr., 84, of Millville, MN peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side. Jim was born on December 14, 1940, in Amboy, MN to Raymond and Doris (Ward) Ohm. Jim attended Elgin High School in Elgin, MN. He grew up on the family farm with his parents and siblings.

In 1958 Jim met his wife, Ruth (Rahman) during a dance at the Plainview Legion in Plainview, MN. They dated for four years before marrying in 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Potsdam, MN. Jim later bought the family farm and he and Ruth raised their four children there. Jim farmed for 44 years before retiring in 2002.

Jim was a soft-spoken man, who loved sports, and he took great pride in his children's and grandchildren's accomplishments and sports teams. Post-game talks with Jim were looked forward to by his children and grandchildren, where Jim would lovingly offer his opinions and advice.

Jim was dedicated to both fastpitch and slow-pitch softball. He was a men's fastpitch softball pitcher and a slow-pitch softball coach for 10 years. He coached and managed "The James Gang" men's softball team (he was the "James" in the "James Gang".) He also coached and managed "Schleicher's Ghostbusters" and the "Peoples State Bank" women's softball teams. Jim led the "James Gang" to a 1983 Class C State Championship.

Jim loved the outdoors. He loved and respected many species of animals, particularly white tail deer. Hunting white tail bucks was his passion and he was a master of it. Jim's hobbies included hunting for mushrooms with his wife, collecting deer sheds, gardening, doing puzzles, and reading.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, their children, Julie (Jim) Grobe of Millville, MN, Eric Ohm of Elgin, MN, and Jamie Ohm of Elba, MN; three grandchildren, Jessica Grobe, Ryan Grobe, and Cole Muenkel; two great-grandchildren, Harper Grobe and Margaret Grobe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, son Michael, and four siblings, LeAnne Weis, Linda Pantel, Paul "Chip" Ohm, Sr, and Richard Ohm.

A Private Family service will be held at a later date.
