Jeromy Paul Schmidt, 44, of Rochester, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 10, 2024. He was born on May 17, 1979, in Rochester to Burton Schmidt and Jan Grobe. Jeromy graduated from Elgin – Millville High School in 1997.

Jeromy worked for the Minnesota DNR as a Wildland Firefighter.  This involved going to remote locations across the US & Canada. He enjoyed being outdoors, embracing the camaraderie with fellow firefighters as they faced the challenges of battling fires and the demanding work that entailed. He was an avid agate hunter who also loved working with his hands.  He was often tinkering on his cars, motorcycles or finishing his walking sticks. He treasured his family and friends, spending time with them was the highlight of his day.

Jeromy is survived by: Jen Wampach his guardian angel and love, and her daughter, Teagan Wampach; his mother, Jan Grobe (Doran Dorman); his father, Burt Schmidt; his siblings, Joshua (Tracy) Schmidt, Justin (Shauntae) Schmidt, Jdee (Lindsy) Schmidt, Cassie Schmidt, and Drew (Jamie Burnes) Jacobs; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal & paternal grandparents, as well as aunts & uncles.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 1 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Wedgewood Park in Plainview. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Jan Grobe.
