The funeral service for Jerry L. Schreader will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, at Zumbro Community Church, 58324 Co. Rd. 7, in rural Zumbro Falls, MN with Pastor Dave Mohler officiating. Burial will follow the service at Dale Pleasant Prairie Cemetery, in rural Zumbro Falls.
Mr. Schreader, 72, of Zumbro Falls, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.
Jerry Leo Schreader was born April 29, 1943 in Red Wing, MN to Leo and Arlene (Adams) Schreader. He attended rural Wabasha County Schools, and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1961 in Rochester. Jerry served his country in the US Navy from September 1963 to September 1967, during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Jerry lived his entire lifetime in the Zumbro Falls, MN area. He worked for various vending companies including; Servomation of America and Canteen Vending. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and going to the casino. He was a member of the Zumbro Falls VFW and served as its Commander for many years.
Jerry is survived by his two children, Justin (Jolene) Schreader of Zumbro Falls, MN, and Teresa Schreader of Rochester, MN; three grandchildren Riley Schreader, William Schreader, and Leah Schreader; his mother, Arlene Schreader of Zumbro Falls, MN; a sister, Pamela Schreader of Rochester, MN; and three brothers, Kenneth Schreader of Janesville, MN, Robert (Bonnie) Schreader of Oronoco, MN, and Michael Schreader of Zumbro Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by his father.
Jerry was a very loving and caring, son, brother, father, and grandfather. He would do anything for anybody. His dog, Angel, will surely miss him.
Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
