Joann Alice Olson, 74, of Elgin, passed way on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. She was born July 3, 1947, in Lake City to Homer and Maggie (Weichel) Krusmark. She grew up and attended school in Lake City.  On November 23, 1963, she married Larry Olson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.

Joann worked with her husband in their home building business, as well as being a full-time mother helping raise their two daughters. She loved hanging out on the front patio. Joann really enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

Joann is survived by her loving husband, Larry Olson of Elgin; two daughters, Doreen (Joe) Schneider of Elgin and Christina (Mark) Braun of Kellogg; five grandchildren, Tony (Laura) Schneider, Nathan (Kenzie) Schneider, Bryan (Bri) Schneider, Adam (Shilo) Braun, and Megan (Nick) Stamschror; nine great grandchildren, Wes, Dalton, Brantley, Brynn, Waverly, Quinnlyn, Mason, Ryker, and Logan; a sister, Fay Jarrett and brother, Jerry (Dianne) Krusmark all of Lake City.

A memorial service for Joann will be held on Tuesday, August 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin with Pastor Terrill Bramstedt officiating. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Elgin Cemetery in Elgin.
