The funeral service for Johan K. Casey will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 2nd, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City, MN with Father Joseph P. Pete officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Theilman, MN.
Mr. Casey, 43, of Lake City, MN died Wednesday morning, August 28, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center in Lake City.
Johan Kirsten Casey was born December 22, 1969 in Camp LeJuene, NC to Daniel Casey and Judith (Eggenberger) Casey. He grew up in Lake City attending Bluff View Elementary School and graduating from Lincoln High School in 1989. Johan spent his entire lifetime living in Lake City.
Johan was employed at restaurants in Lake City, the Port-of Call and Waterman's Restaurant. He also was employed at Bud Meyer Trucking, Valley Craft and Pepin Manufacturing (PMI), Johan loved his work. Johan loved nature and enjoyed exploring, spending time hiking, traveling, was an avid reader, loved making chili for family and friends, and loved listening to police scanners. He was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church.
Johan is survived by his mother, Judith Casey of Lake City; two sisters Shannon Casey of Lake City, and Michelle "Micki" Casey of Rochester; two brothers, Shaun Casey of Philadelphia, Miss., and Padriac Casey of Goodhue; a niece, Hannah Casey; two nephews, Jacob Snyder and Joeb Casey; one great-nephew, Easton Snyder; and his beloved kitty, Patches. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.
Friends and family may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, September 2nd, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City.
