John Warren Johnson, 83, of Plainview, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus, as the result of a traffic accident. He was born October 24, 1939, in Elk Grove Township, Cook County, Illinois, to George and Stella (Seeman) Johnson. He graduated from Rochester Vocation School with a welding degree. He married Mary Ann Johnson in 1979 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in West Albany.

John worked at various companies over the years doing mechanical work. He also owned and operated Johnson Repair in Plainview for many years. He enjoyed scrapping automobiles or anything mechanical. He especially loved taking things apart and fixing anything mechanical.

John is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Johnson of Plainview; a daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Hocken, and a son, Warren (Christine) Johnson both of Rochester; four grandchildren, Daniel, Isaiah, Elizabeth, and Paul; and a brother, Dean Quentin (Mary) Johnson of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dwight, and William (Bill), and a sister, Connie Thayer.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Plainview with Pastor Tyrone Spenst officiating. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.
