The funeral service for John Preble will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel in Lake City, with Pastor David Badgely officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City.

John Roy Preble, 69, of Lake City passed away Thursday evening, March 21, 2019 at the U of M Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis.  He was born October 16, 1949 in New Prague, MN to LeRoy and Maxine (Edel) Preble.  He attended school and graduated from Montgomery High School in Montgomery, MN.  He went on to attend Meat Cutters Trade school.  John married Ramona Anderson on January 13, 1976 in Sioux Falls, SD.

John worked in the grocery industry starting at Edel's Meat Market in Montgomery as a meat cutter, and then was employed by Country Club Market.  The Preble's moved to Lake City (from Bloomington) and John was employed by Fiesta Foods as Store Manager.  John was a member of the Meat Cutters Union.

John loved antiquing.  He went to many antique sales over the years.  He enjoyed woodworking, cabinetry, and his wood carving, making many beautiful intricate carvings.  John took great pride in his gardens, especially his roses.

John is survived by his children, Scott Preble of Peoria, AZ, Tricia (Kevin) Jojiboj of Pheonix, AZ, Rick Wagner of Vermillion, MN, Michelle (Kevin) Decker of Zimmerman, MN, Jodey Witte of Arvada, CO, Sandra Stanfill of Fort Collins, CO, and Robert (Denise) Wagner of Eagan, MN; 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Mike (Ann) Preble of Bloomington, MN; two sisters, Patricia Preble and Roxanne Preble both of San Francisco.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife.
