John Franklin Webster, 83, of Millville, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. He was born on December 6, 1942, in Rochester, Minnesota to Gerald and Irene (Schulz) Webster.
John grew up in Olmsted County and attended rural Olmsted County Schools and graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester in 1960. He went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army from March 13, 1964, to March 9, 1966, when he was honorably discharged. On April 8, 1967, he married the love of his life, Susan Price, in Rochester, Minnesota.
After his military service John returned to Minnesota to continue farming in Wabasha and Olmsted counties. In his younger years John enjoyed roller skating, water-skiing, and loved to go dancing. After his retirement from farming John enjoyed spending winters in the Arizona sun. He especially enjoyed visiting with people, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
John was a member of the Millville Valley American Legion Post 579 and served on the Hyde Park Township Board as its former treasurer.
John is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Sheri) Webster of Elgin, James (Sandy) Webster of Millville, and Jenny (Chris) Clayton of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; four grandchildren, Justin (Ashley), Justine, Madison, and Julie. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, and one sister.
The funeral service for John will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, with Pastor Dean Zemple officiating. The burial will be in Farm Hill Cemetery in rural Olmsted County with Military Honors by the Millville Valley American Legion Post 579. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
