The funeral service for Joseph "Joe" L. Hoffman will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19th, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church – West Albany in rural Millville, MN with Reverend Monsignor Robert Meyer and Father Joseph P. Pete officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery – West Albany.

Mr. Hoffman, 89, of Plainview, MN and formerly of Millville, MN died early Sunday morning, June 16, 2013 at St. Isidore Health Center of Greenwood Prairie in Plainview, MN.

Joseph Leo Hoffman was born August 4, 1923 in West Albany Township, Wabasha County, MN to John and Clara (Shones) Hoffman. He grew up and attended rural Wabasha County School at West Albany. As a young man Joe worked as a journeyman, and did concrete work at Assisi Heights and in downtown Rochester. On October 19, 1952 he married Dollie Mae Plank at the United Methodist Church in Plainview. After marriage they owned and operated the Millville Café from 1952 to 1964. They then moved to a farm in rural Millville, and moved into Plainview in 2008. Joe was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Joe is survived by two daughters, Julie (Jeff) Palm of Millville and Jane (Robert) McGrath of Plainview; two sons, Joey (Odie Christianson) Hoffman of Millville and Jeffrey (Patti) Hoffman of Plainview; daughter-in-law, Brenda Hoffman of Millville, and ex-daughter-in-law, Julie Hoffman of Plainview; 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild due soon; two sisters, Margaret (Ernie) Gusa of Kellogg, Dorothy DeLaurier of McFarland, WI; and one brother, Marvin Hoffman of Kellogg. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dollie; two sons, Kevin and Jon; 4 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, MN and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Wednesday.
