God decided to bring mom home on February 9, 2023 from her long courageous battle with the most evil disease. Mom fought her cancer battle for a long two and a half years. She never gave up, she always thought outside the box, and she fought as long and as hard as she could, but God needed to bring home one of the strongest on earth.

Joy Ann Stock was born on September 8, 1962, in Rochester to Lloyd and Kathleen (Bannon) Hofschulte. On August 24, 1996, she married the love of her life Troy Stock at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview.

Mom was such a great person, she loved everyone she came into contact with, never a bad word about anyone. She had the kindest soul, the most beautiful smile, and the cutest snort when she would laugh. Her faith was so important to her and of course she was appropriately named and brought so much "Joy" to us all.

Her kids, family and husband were her greatest treasure, and it was the hardest thing to leave us in sadness but she reminded us that she is home and in the best hands. She is no longer in pain and has to suffer no more.

Mom says "I am forever grateful for the loving kindness, prayers, and friendship given to me here on this earth. I know I am loved, I know people care! I am blessed!"

Anybody that knew my mom knew how important it was to her to always look her best! If you knew Joy you knew she was always 30 minutes late if not more because she was always primping, curling and making sure her hair was the right "bigness"! And everybody knew they were going to sacrifice that half hour for her, but of course we wouldn't have had it any other way.

My mom always liked a bit of humor and always found it in the aisles of Walmart and if anyone has shopped with her at Walmart, they would know what I'm talking about. Even when she was in pain, we would shop till we dropped.

Her creativity shined bright, she had a true gift, one you don't really see very often. She showed this during a college Halloween party, of which you can ask her favorite child Aaron about! Her never ending creativity was always on display through her graphic design projects anywhere from the tiles she created for others, her creation of clothing, cutting boards, water bottles, home decor, party planning, catering, and home brew. It was everywhere.

She loved her flowers the most and was Sargent's favorite customer. She nurtured and savored those bad boys until the very last second. She would tell us the secret of her success was her TLC and chicken poo.

My mom loved walks outside even if it meant bundling up in a hat, mittens, and snow pants. She always brought her walking sticks and of course her furry companion Copper Penny. Her compassion and kindness for animals was unmatched. She saw the true beauty in all of God's creation and always took time to stop and take a picture. She absolutely loved taking photos and was so good at it, however, us kids did not enjoy laying on a gravel road to take a family photo but we did it for our mom always.

We will cherish and love her forever. We can only hope we are half the person she was and we will never forget her.

Joy is survived by her loving husband, Troy Stock of Elgin, their children, Aaron Stock of Plainview, Maria (Ty) Gundlach of Menomonie, WI, and Rachael Stock of Elgin; her mother, Kathleen Hofschulte of Millville; brothers, Jeffrey (Connie) Hofschulte of Millville, Craig (Janet) Hofschulte of Plainview, Patrick (Susan) Hofschulte of Spring Valley, James Hofschulte of Plainview, Joseph (Deanna) Hofschulte of Millville, Jonathan (Amy Silverness) of Millville, and William (Nicole) of Genoa, MN. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Hofschulte.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview with Msgr. Tom Melvin officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Joachim's Catholic Cemetery in Plainview. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
