The funeral service for June M. Wegner Vagt will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel with Pastor Ricardo Alcoser officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery, South of Hammond.

June M. Wegner Vagt, 94, of Pine Island, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Pine Haven Care Center.  She was born June 13, 1924 in West Albany Township, Wabasha County, MN to Earl and Louisa (Wilde) Wegner.  On April 20, 1944 she married Edwin Vagt in Rochester.

After marriage they lived in Rochester, moving to Hammond in 1958.  In 1975 they moved to Pine Island and in 1997 to Mazeppa.  June entered Pine Haven Care Center in March 2017.  She enjoyed spending time crocheting.  She was a lifetime member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Hammond.

Survivors include her children, Robin (Raymond) Bye of West Concord, and Marsha Kettner of Pine Island; Steve (Gladys) Vagt, Bruce (Susie) Vagt, and Ed (Reva) Vagt all of Mazeppa, Lance (Ruth) Vagt of Plainview, and a foster child, Roger Leuth of Seattle, WA; 26 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce McCormick of Rochester, Bernadine Duncan of Stewartville; and friend Bryan Fiegel of Oronoco.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, infant son and daughter, and son-in-law, Robert Kettner.

Friends and family may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17 at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
