The funeral service for Karen K. Schultz will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2nd, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview with Pastor Dan Ashpole officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Preston.
Karen passed away at the age of 68, on Sunday morning, December 28, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Wabasha, where she had resided since July of 2013.
Karen Kay Allen was born December 7, 1946 in Spring Valley, MN to Floyd and Florence (Bendickson) Allen. She attended school in the Spring Valley area graduating from Spring Valley High School in 1964. On January 2, 1965 she married Frebert "Bud" Schultz in Stevensville, MI.
Karen lived in various locations in Southeastern Minnesota including, Spring Valley, Kasson, and Zumbrota. She also lived in Pepin, Wisconsin for a while. She was a former member of the Pine Island and Spring Valley Assembly of God Church. Karen enjoyed genealogy, and was a member of various Genealogy Organizations. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking and cooking especially for her family.
Karen is survived by her husband, Bud Schultz of Pepin, WI; two daughters, Rachel (Darren) Durst of West Concord, and Lori Schultz of Kasson; four sons, Scott (Cindy) Schultz of Pepin, WI, Jeffery (Kimberly) Schultz of Kenyon, David (Tina) Schultz of West Concord, and Jeremy (Becky) Schultz of Mantorville; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Diane (Floyd) Vrieze of Albert Lea, Linda (Jim) Black of Hayfield, and Mary Jo (Paul) Laganiere of Grand Meadow; and one brother, Darrell (Bonnie) Allen of Albert Lea. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
Friends and family may visit from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 1st, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Family prefers memorials to: St. Ann's Unit at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, 626 Shields Avenue, Wabasha, MN.
