Kenneth "Ken" Kobs, 81, passed away peacefully at his home on October 19, 2024. Ken was born on April 6, 1943, in Lake City, MN to Arthur and Rosella Kobs. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961 and later received an engineering draftsman certification from Gale Institute.  He enlisted into the United States Navy Air Reserve, serving active duty from 1965-1966. A dedicated employee, Ken spent 40 years working at Federal Mogul in Lake City as a mold and piston designer. Later in retirement, he worked seasonally at the Lake City Marina.

He married Barbara (Strauss) on September 2, 1967, in Bellechester, MN. They made their home in Lake City for 57 years where they raised their family.

Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and loyal friend who was a kind and patient man with a witty personality. He was an avid outdoorsman and steward of the land who loved hunting big bucks and calling in turkeys. It was not uncommon to see Ken fishing on Lake Pepin.

When he wasn't in the woods or on the water, you could find Ken checking on his garden or finding the next perfect spot to plant a tree. He enjoyed feeding birds and putzing around in his yard and in the garage. Ken enjoyed playing cards and dancing with his wife. Together, they cherished watching their grandchildren grow up, often attending many school and sporting events.  An engaged member of the community, Ken was a member of the St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Lake City Sportsman's Club, The National Wild Turkey Federation, and Trout Unlimited.

Ken is survived by his wife, Barb; daughter Lisa (Mike) Brown of Lake City, Scott (Stacey) Kobs of St. Charles, Brian (Christine) Kobs of Chatfield, Emily (Ryan) Dresher of St. Charles; 11 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many cherished Crowson & Strauss relatives. He is proceeded in death by his parents.

Friends and family may visit from 4-7pm at Schleicher Funeral Homes on Friday, October 25, and one hour before funeral services which will be Saturday, October 26 at 11am at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Arthritis Foundation, St. Mary's Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
