Obituary

The memorial service for Kenneth E. Willers, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Joseph P. Pete officiating.

Kenneth Edward Willers, 81, of Frontenac, passed away at his home in Frontenac on Monday, May 28, 2018.  He was born January 1, 1937 in Lake City to Edward and Frances (Grobe) Willers.  He grew up and attended schools in Lake City graduating in 1954 from Lincoln High School.  He went on and took courses through Chicago Technical College and graduated in 1956.  Ken married Patricia Mary Cronin on May 4, 1955 at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church.  They raised their four children in Lake City, Pat died October 25, 2013.  Ken married Joyce VonHelmst on June 10, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City.

Ken lived his entire lifetime in Lake City and owned and operated Willers Construction for 43 years.  He was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the cemetery board.  Ken was a member of the Lake City Lions Club and obtained the PDG the highest level of the Lions.  Many years ago he was a member of the Lake City Jaycee's.  He loved to golf and do some hunting, avid Minnesota Viking Fan, having held season ticket since 1972.

Ken is survived by his wife, Joyce of Frontenac; children, Kathy Roeder of Stewartville, Steve (Swantje) Willers of Slayton, Scott, (Carma) Willers of Lake City, and Mary Pat (Jay) Anderson of Hayfield; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Pat, a brother Keith, and son-in-law, Mike Roeder.

Friends and family may visit from 12:30 p.m. on Thursday until the time of service at the church.
