Kim Marie Anderson, 69, of Lake City, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Mary's Campus. She was born on October 21, 1956, in Lake City to Martin "Pete" and Rose Mary (Feehan) Hart.

Kim grew up in Lake City, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1975. On October 8, 1977, she married the love of her life, David Anderson, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church. Together they built 48 years of laughter, adventure, and devotion that can only come from two people who truly enjoyed sharing life side by side.

Kim lived her whole life in Lake City, but her heart was always excited for the next adventure, whether it was exploring Europe or riding roller coasters. She loved to travel, especially with family, turning every trip into a story worth retelling and boy are there stories to tell!  Whether she was walking along a beach in Roatan (in jeans, naturally) or planning the next adventure, she found pure joy in making memories with the people she loved most.

Family was Kim's world. She had an extraordinary gift for making every person feel like they were the most important one in the room. She remembered the little details, celebrated every success, and showed up for everyone — not just in the big moments, but in the everyday ones too. Her laughter filled family gatherings, her hugs were unmatched and as legendary as her spam spread sandwiches. Just her presence made every place feel like home.

Kim worked over the years at Riviera Kitchen in Red Wing, Heat-N-Glo in Lake City, and BIC in Red Wing, retiring in 2023. Her work ethic was strong, her friendships at each stop genuine, and her humor ever-present. She had a gift for making ordinary days brighter—often with a quick quip, a warm smile, or a mischievous sparkle that warned you she was about to make you laugh.

A lifelong member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church and a supporter of Paws & Claws, Kim had a heart big enough for everyone — people and animals.

She is survived by her devoted husband, David Anderson of Lake City; her three sisters, Diane (Chuck) Dudrey of Pacific Beach, WA, Pam Watson of Lake City, and Michelle (David) Chavarria of St. Paul and a whole host of very close family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a sister.

The Memorial Mass for Kim will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City, with Father Thé Hoang officiating. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing.

Kim's family invites everyone to honor her in the way she lived: laugh easily, travel often, cherish your family, and make time for the people who matter most. And if you ever find yourself on a beach in jeans, smiling at the sunset, know that Kim would be right there with you (in denim) — laughing, loving, and reminding you to take the picture, because that's how memories last.
