The memorial service for Kristy S. Puetz will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8th, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview with Father William Becker officiating. Burial will be in St. Joachim's Catholic Cemetery in Plainview.

Ms. Puetz, 46, of Saint Charles and formerly of Plainview, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family after a courageous 9 year battle with Ovarian Cancer.

Kristy Sue Puetz was born August 11, 1967 in Rochester to Donald and Susan (Haessig) Puetz. She grew up and attended school in Plainview graduating in 1986 from Plainview High School. While in high school she worked at Lakeside Foods, and following her graduation she worked at Hillcrest Nursing Home from 1986 to 1989. Kristy then went to Mayo Clinic in Rochester and worked as a Physical Therapy Technician from 1989 to present. In 1992 she moved to Rochester and lived there until 2002 when she moved to Saint Charles. Kristy also worked at IBM and Schmidt Stride-Rite Shoes in Rochester, and at Good Sport Bar & Grill in Saint Charles for several years to the present. Kristy was a member of St. Charles Moose Lodge, Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance – Rochester Chapter, and a former member of Rochester Eagles Club.

Kristy's smile would light up any room she walked into. She was always the life of the party. Her outgoing fun loving attitude made it easy to love her, and she is loved by many. Not only was she your friend, she made everyone feel like you were her best friend. Always put others first, even throughout her battle with cancer, bringing friends and strangers food and words of encouragement and support after she heard the news of illness or cancer in others. Kristy did not let the cancer control her life. She enjoyed the outdoors and all it had to offer, loved to go camping at her camper at Bass Camp, go boating and fishing, canoeing, playing softball, helping Mike with his dirt car and going to his races, snowmobiling, loved shopping, and traveling, baking for others, doing word search puzzles, and she was the ultimate party planner for bus tours and other events. She always planned the right decorations or food preparation for get togethers, she loved to dance; and had her own style of dance moves, and she was one of a kind. Kristy was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, cousin, niece, friend, co-work and companion. Her zest for life will be forever missed but her laughter and smile will remain a memory in our hearts forever.

Kristy is survived by her father, Donald Puetz of Plainview; sister and family, Jamie (Ryan) Groebner, Ava, God-child, Cutler of Plainview; brother and family, Mike (Kathy) Puetz, Christopher and McKenzie Hoff, of Saint Charles, and brother and family, Steve (Rhonda) Puetz, Tyler and Brian of Rollingstone; special companion, Mike Miller, Sr. and his daughter, Kristin of Saint Charles; and her special dog, Flash. She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan on August 10, 2013.

Friends and family may visit from 9:00 a.m. to time of service on Saturday, March 8th, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview. Memorials are preferred to MOCA – Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance or the American Cancer Society in memory of Kristy Puetz.
