The funeral service for Laurine M. Senst will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.

Mrs. Senst, 97, of Plainview, passed away Saturday morning, August 6, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center and Nursing Home in Wabasha.

Laurine Marie Folkert was born June 3, 1919 in rural Plainview to John and Marie (Karstens) Folkert. She attended rural Wabasha County School District 85, Giem School. On March 20, 1946 she married Leonard Franklin Senst; he died on May 28, 1991.

They farmed in rural Plainview and Laurine was a busy farm wife working in the fields and raising a family. She enjoyed gardening and canning the produce from her gardens, playing cards, bird watching, and was a wonderful cook and baker. She liked to go on vacations with her family. Laurine especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview.

Laurine is survived by her children, Debra (Allan) Gehling of Grand Meadow, Loren (Jean) Senst of Albert Lea, and Dennis Senst of Plainview; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jeanette (Louie) Johnson of Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, three brothers, and one sister.

Friends and family may visit from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, at the Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
