A memorial service for Lawrence "Larry" Tesmer will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel with Bill Wohlers officiating.  A private burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, October 22.

Lawrence Tesmer, 95, of Plainview and formerly of Elgin, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview.  Larry was born May 4, 1923 in Millville to Ernest and Louisa (Krueger) Tesmer.  He attended Millville country school.  Larry proudly served in the US Army during WWII from January 3, 1945 to November 13, 1946.  He married Rosella Slawson on January 1, 1950 in Rochester.

Larry hauled milk with his brother Allen to local creameries, and was also an over the road trucker.  He also farmed, owned the Skelly Service Station in Rochester, and then worked for Sears in Rochester for 23 years where he managed the warehouse.

Larry enjoyed spending time at their cabin, fishing, and occasional trips to the casino.  He really enjoyed spending winters in the South.  He moved from his home in Elgin to Green Prairie Place in Plainview in 2013.

Larry is survived by his children, Linda (John) Walbruch of Mantorville, and Dallas (Sue) Tesmer of Plainview; three grandchildren, Sarah, Lisa, and Nick and six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Jason, Dereck, Lilly, Ryan, and Kaylee; a sister Wanda Otteson of Red Wing; and two brothers, Edward (Lorraine) Tesmer of Millville, and Louis (Doloris) Tesmer of Zumbro Falls, Allen's wife Delores Tesmer of Lime Springs, IA,.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosella in 2005, seven brothers and one sister.

Friends and family may visit from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel.
