The funeral mass for Lela "Jeanette" Ryan will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9th, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, West Albany in rural Millville, MN, with Father Joseph P. Pete officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, West Albany.
Mrs. Ryan, 80, of Millville, passed away Thursday morning, December 4, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center in Lake City.
Lela Jeanette Ryan was born September 20, 1934 in Lake City, MN to Clifford and Hazel (Sanford) Johnson. She attended elementary school in Zumbro Falls, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1952. On October 6, 1952 she married William Ryan at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in West Albany.
The Ryan's farmed in rural Millville since they were married. Jeanette loved cooking and baking for her family, enjoyed reading, gardening, and going dancing. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she faithfully volunteered, teaching Sunday school, served as President of the W.C.C.W., and was a member of Catholic Daughters. Jeanette loved spending time with her family, and especially enjoyed taking time to spend with all her grandchildren.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, William R. Ryan of Lake City; four daughters, Kathy (Joe) Myer of Lake City; Mary Jo Briggs, Patty (Mark) Leonard, and Charlotte (Scott) Becklund all of Millville; two sons, Richard (Kim) Ryan of Mazeppa, and William (Nancy) Ryan, Jr. of Millville; 27 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Marilyn (Ted) Marshall of Galena, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Joyce, one brother, Bob, and one granddaughter, Kari.
Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8th, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, West Albany in rural Millville, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
