Logan Lloyd Evans, 81, of Minneapolis, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, following a long battle with metastatic cancer. He was born on March 10, 1943, in Lake City to John and Vera (Erickson) Evans. Logan grew up on the Evans farm south of Plainview where he attended Pleasant Valley County School and graduated from Elgin High School.  He went on to attend the Minnesota Bible College in Minneapolis.  On February 11, 1967, he married Joan Boe at the Church of Christ in Minneapolis.

Logan began working summers while in high school at a local canning factory to earn money to attend college. He then worked for 36 years at Stone Container.

Logan was a world traveler with trips to the Holy Lands and Scandinavia. He had a strong interest in choral and sacred music. Although he was not an accomplished vocalist, he enjoyed listening to it very much. He was also active with the Boy Scouts over the years, and was a long-time fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Logan was the Historian for the Pleasant Valley Cemetery Association in rural Olmsted County.

Logan is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan Evans of Minneapolis; and one brother, Kenneth (Rita) Evans of Maple Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Rodney.

The funeral service for Logan will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, at the Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, with Rev. Jack Miller officiating. The burial will follow the service at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in rural Plainview.  Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
