Lois B. Johnson, 81, of Lake City, and formerly of Wabasha, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016, at St. Crispin Care Center in Red Wing.
Lois Bell Nelson was born May 30, 1934 in Clinton Falls, MN. Her parents were Raymond and Leona Nelson. She attended school in Owatonna and helped working on the family farm while growing up. Lois also worked at Josten's in Owatonna for a few years and then stayed home to raise her family. On September 25, 1954 Lois married Harold "Pete" Peterson, they later divorced. On July 17, 1971 she married Vern L. Johnson, they later divorced.
Lois enjoyed sewing, making quilts and embroidery. She loved teaching her daughters embroidery. She also had large gardens full of flowers and vegetables. She canned a lot of produce for her family. Lois was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Red Wing, MN as well as T.O.P.S. for many years.
She is survived by her two daughters: Suzette "Sue" (Mark) Henry of Lake City, MN and Stacy (Scott) Freiheit of Prescott, WI; four Grandchildren: Danielle Beaulieu, Shanae Owens, Skyler (Shayla) Henry and Seth (Missy) Henry; seven Great Grandchildren: Hailey McKay, Zachary Kalstabakken, Caitlyn Kalstabakken, Serena Owens, Sawyer Owens, Easton Henry and Oakley Henry. Baby Henry is due in May; one sister, Margaret Randall of Owatonna; two brothers, Darrel (Corky) Nelson of Ellendale, MN and Duane (Diane) Nelson of Kansas City, MO and Yuma, AZ; and a special Friend for many years, John Burfeind of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Sheila in 2004; grandson Anthony in 2009.
A celebration of Lois Johnson's life will be from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Schleicher Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Lake City Chapel, 1895 South Hwy 61 in Lake City, MN.
