The funeral service for Lola Karlstad will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 17th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, with Pastor Terrill Bramstedt officiating. Burial will be in the Elgin Cemetery in Elgin following the service.

Mrs. Karlstad, 75, of Elgin, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at her home in Elgin.

Lola Marie Richmond was born February 17, 1939 in Pillager, MN to Clyde and Loretta (Leonard) Richmond. She graduated in 1957 from Prescott High School in Prescott, WI. On September 11, 1965 she married Arnold Karlstad in Prescott.

Lola enjoyed being a homemaker and helping raise their seven children. She also worked at Lakeside Foods in Plainview for 20 years. She enjoyed spending time gardening, reading and doing puzzle books. She especially liked to go antiquing, and spending time bird watching.

Lola is survived by her three daughters, Karen (Lonn) Morse of Rochester, Tamme (Mark) Tubbs of Elgin, and Sara (Cory) Schmitz of LeCenter; three sons, Steve Karlstad of Kasson, Scott (Gabby) Karlstad of St. Charles, and Derik (Tina Lock) Karlstad of Elgin; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jean Cole of Conway, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arnold on September 20, 2006, two sisters, and one son, Erik.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
