Louella Ruth Polson, 63, of Lake City, passed away at her home on Sunday evening, May 31, 2020.  She was born September 25, 1956 in Cross Lake, Manitoba, Canada to Alex and Catherine (Sinclair) Ross.  She attended school in Cross Lake.  On December 22, 1979 she married William "Bill" Polson in Cross Lake, Manitoba.

Louella was employed as a housekeeper for the Kahler Hotel for 16 years until she was physically unable to work.  She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, and especially spending time with her grandkids and drinking Pepsi.  Louella was a member of the Hilltop Fellowship Church in rural Millville.

Louella is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Polson of Lake City; four sons, Shawn "Chief" (Casey Mehrkens) Ross of Millville, Ben (Jenny) Polson of Rochester, Bob (Danielle) Polson of Elgin, and Ross Polson of Lake City; nine grandchildren (Taylor, Kenzie, Noah, Addison, Breckyn, Alex, Vada, Abraham, Koaltan), 11 brothers and sisters, Helen & Fred Saunders of Brandon, Manitoba, Isabelle & Richard Pearson, Sheila Ross, Johnny & Maggie Ross and Lawrence & Mary Ross all of Cross Lake, Manitoba, and Margie & Gary Edgar of Edmonton, Alberta.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Esther, Lydia, and Rosalie, and brother, Robert.

Louella loved her family and would want all of them to be here to grieve with us. Unfortunately, travel is challenged by Covid-19 restrictions preventing everyone from being able to grieve in person.

Despite the many health challenges Lou faced over the years, she always smiled and courageously lived her life to its fullest with determination, kindness and love that inspired and touched the hearts of everyone that was blessed to come to know her.  Hardly a day passed by that Lou didn't talk with her family in Canada.  She made it a point to always get to Canada and see her many family members and was always there to make anyone she crossed paths with to laugh, smile, warm a heart and help people see the brighter side of things when it was needed most.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, at the Hilltop Cemetery in rural Millville, with Rev. Steve Buss officiating.
