Obituary

The funeral service for Luella M. Eggenberger will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019 at St. John's Lutheran church with Pastor Nathan Cordes officiating.  Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. The visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M.  Monday, Dec. 16, 2019 at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Luella M. Eggenberger died Friday, December 13, 2019 at the MCHS-Lake City Care Center.

She was born Nov. 8, 1929 in Chester Township, Wabasha County to Emil and Anna (Dankers) Dohrn.  Luella attended Chester Township School through 8 th grade, then obtained her GED at the age of 65.

Luella married the boy who lived next door, Lloyd Eggenberger, Nov. 18, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City.  The couple lived and farmed outside of Theilman.  She was an Avon Consultant for 33 years.  Luella also was a Charter Member of Wabasha County ARC and served on the board of directors for many years as well serving on the DAC board of directors.  She was a 4-H leader while her children were involved in 4-H.  Her hobbies included crocheting, planting flowers, collecting porcelain dolls and putting many jig saw puzzles together.  Luella was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church as well as Old Know Your Neighbor's Club in West Albany.  She moved to Lake City in 2002.

Luella is survived by her sons, Larry Eggenberger of Arlington, TX, Keith (Debra) Eggenberger of Plainview, MN, Bob Eggenberger of Lake City, MN; daughter, Shari (Phil) Olson of Zumbrota, MN; son, Doug Eggenberger of Lake City, MN; seven grandchildren: Brent Eggenberger, Joey Eggenberger, Andrea Terpening, Chase and Brock Olson, Ryan Eggenberger, Courtney Fick; 7 great-grandchildren: Charlie Eggenberger, Crue Olson, Emelia Eggenberger, Natalie Eggenberger, Tuck Olson, Sybil Eggenberger, Hank Terpening; 3 sisters: Esther (Louis) Prigge of Lake City, LaVerna Dohrn of Scottsdale, AZ and Jane Thompson of Scottsdale, AZ; 3 brothers: Donald Dohrn of Plainview, Vernon (Tina) Dohrn of Lake City and Richard (Bonnie) Dohrn of Lake City; brother-in-law, Donald Ebling.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Lloyd (Nov. 22, 1996), two sisters, Lorraine Ebeling and Marvel Dohrn, brother, Rollie Dohrn and sister-in law Pat.
