Obituary

The funeral service for Lyle A. Domke will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6th, at the United Methodist Church in Lake City, with Pastor Phil Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City.

Mr. Domke, 89, of Lake City, passed away early Friday morning, September 1, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center in Lake City.

Lyle Albert Domke was born July 21, 1928 in Rochester to George and Lillian (Lehman) Domke. He attended school in Rochester. On March 14, 1952 he married Kathryn Elwood in Lake City.

Lyle was a machinist and employed by the O'Neil Tool and Die in Lake City from 1947 to 1951. He then served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Sgt. in the US Army from March 14, 1951 to March 13, 1953. After his return from duty he was employed by DiAcro from 1948 until his retirement in 1985.

Lyle was a member of the Lake City Kiwanis Club, Wabasha American Legion Post #50, and the United Methodist Church in Lake City. Lyle enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Lyle is survived by his daughter, Georgia (Bill) Wilson of Apple Valley, two sons, Greg (BeNita) Domke of Red Wing, and Tom (Kathy) Domke of Concord, NC; three grandchildren; a brother, Melvin (LaVonne) Domke of Hammond, a sister, Ruth Holm of Red Wing, and sisters-in-law, Grace Skelly and Darlene Domke. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on April 28, 1997, a grandson, and two brothers, Kenneth, and Richard.

Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
