Margaret L. Belknap, 94, of Lake City, MN, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System- Red Wing, in Red Wing, MN.
Margaret Lois Belknap was born September 10, 1921 in Melrose, MN to Martin H. Belknap and Matilda (nee Kreofsky) Belknap. She attended and graduated from St. Paul Central High School in 1939. After high school she attended UCLA and lived in California for the next 44 years. While in California, she worked in Hollywood for a large insurance agent as a bookkeeper and administrative secretary. In 1986 She moved to Lake City, MN and worked for Lake City Hospital for 1 ½ years and then at Goodhue County Historical Society for 6 years.
Margaret's hobbies included her work and knitting all types of items. She enjoyed needlepoint, crossword puzzles and playing cards.
She is survived by three nephews: Mark Gill, Neil Belknap and James Gill; Two nieces: Barbara Belknap and Roberta Belknap. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers.
Inurnment of her cremated remains will take place in North Hollywood, at the Valhalla Memorial Park Mausoleum.
