Margaret Wagner was born March 1, 1940, in Theilman, Minnesota. She was the last of 13 children born to John and Phoebe (McMillin) Ring. She attended Wabasha County rural schools and McCahill Elementary School in Lake City. She attended McCahill High School in Lake City before graduating from St. Felix High School in Wabasha, Minnesota, in 1958. Margaret went on to attend Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Margaret married the love of her life, Ronald Wagner on September 17, 1960, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa. The Wagners began farming in rural Mazeppa in 1960, where they raised their six children. She enjoyed helping on the farm and spending time with her family and friends. Margaret was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bellechester and very active in the Catholic Daughters for many years.

Margaret passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Elysian Senior Living in Lake City, Minnesota at the age of 86.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Wagner of Mazeppa; six children, Thomas Wagner of Deshler, Ohio, Raleigh (Jennifer) Wagner of Zumbro Falls, Colleen (Ralph) Kulesa of Lake Elmo, Maria (Heather) Wagner of Rochester, Matthew (Tom) Wagner of Portland, Oregan, and Gregory (Jennifer) Wagner of Santa Fe, New Mexico; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 brothers and sisters, and one grandson, Christopher.

The Funeral Mass for Margaret will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bellechester, with Father Thomas McCabe officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.
