The funeral service for Marjorie "Marge" J. Tesmer will be at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 24th, at Christ Our Rock Lutheran Church at 3040 Stonehedge Drive NE in Rochester, with Pastor Jeff Limpert officiating. Private family burial will be in Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester.

Mrs. Tesmer, 83, died Thursday morning, November 21, 2013 at the Seasons Hospice House in Rochester with her family by her side.

Marjorie Jean DeVries was born October 4, 1930 in Racine Township, Olmsted County, MN. She attended school at Stewartville for 7½ years and then went to school in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School. On March 6, 1949 she married Ernest Tesmer at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester. They made their home in rural Millville where they farmed until retiring in 1998, when they moved to Rochester.

Besides being a homemaker Marge worked as a waitress before her marriage at Green Parrot in Rochester. Then she found employment at the Ben Franklin and Z to A Variety stores in Lake City where she worked for several years. She also worked as a waitress at The Galley in Lake City. Marge enjoyed silk flower arrangements and doing flowers for weddings, all kinds of crafts, and playing cards, but most of all loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marge is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Ernest Tesmer of Rochester; one daughter, Sharon Copeman of Rochester; and one son, Dwight (Nancy) Tesmer of Millville; three grandchildren Ann (Chad) Liebenow, Dean (Julie) Tesmer, and Bruce (Brittany) Tesmer, two step-grandsons, Dale and Steven Copeman; six great-grandchildren; brother, Duaine (Diane) Hove of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Ervin Hove; brother, Eugene Hove; son, Darrell; daughter, Pamela; grandson, Jason Tesmer; and son-in-law, Robert Copeman.

Friends and family may visit from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23rd, at Christ Our Rock Lutheran Church in Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Sunday.
