Marjorie "Marge" Marie Deming, 83, of Plainview, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. She was born June 28, 1939, in Fillmore County, to Lincoln and Edith (Finley) Balcome. Marge attended junior high school in Winona where she excelled in art receiving the National Scholastic Art Award in Pittsburgh, PA and first place in the Dayton's Display in 1954. She attended high school at Plainview Community Schools graduating in 1957, she was active in the Plainview band as a majorette and was homecoming queen. Marge went on to pursue a career in art attending RCC in Rochester and Famous Art Course & Stratford Career Course in Stratford, PA, where she received her Art Degree.

Marge married the love of her life, Duane Deming on September 21, 1957, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview. They lived on a farm in rural Plainview where they raised their children, and she enjoyed being a homemaker and pursuing her art career as a self-employed artist. Marge was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview, where she taught CCD for 10 years, was a member of the Catholic Daughters for over 50 years and served as Regent. She was also a member of the saddle club and served as its secretary. She loved horses and Australian Shephard dogs.

Marge is survived by her loving husband, Duane Deming of Plainview; five daughters, Cindy (Gary) Wiebusch of Rochester, Lori (Dan) Klassen of Alexandria, Sharon (Peter) Schouweiler, and Angela (Steve) Wolf both of Plainview and Sue (John) Ellingson of Edina; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judith Moore of Rochester, and a brother, Chance "Al" Balcome of Elgin. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Joseph, a brother Robert Balcome, a sister-in-law Mary Jo Balcome, and a granddaughter Heather Schouweiler.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 4, at 11:00 a.m. with celebrants Msgr. Tom Melvin and Father Tom Loomis. Burial will follow the service in St. Joachim's Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Friday, March 3 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
