A Remembrance Mass for Marjorie M. Myer will be held on Wednesday, September 30, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Matthew Fasnacht officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. No lunch will follow the service. Masks are required and please follow the COVID-19 rules of social distancing.

Marjorie Magdelene Myer, 95, of Wabasha and formerly of Lake City, passed away Sunday evening, March 8, 2020 at St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center in Wabasha, where she had been a resident since 2019.  She was born September 30, 1924 in Gillford Township, Wabasha County, MN to John and Katherine (Klennert) Miller.  She attended school McCahill Catholic School and Lincoln High School graduating in 1943.  On September 20, 1949 she married Carl Myer at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City.  They lived in the Lake City area since 1955.

Marjorie was employed as drill press operator, telephone operator, seamstress at Zero-King Coat Factory, and in the Di-Acro Print Shop.  She also worked at the family owned Myer Feed and Farm Supply for many years with her husband and son until she retired in 1990.

Marjorie enjoyed using her hands doing crafts, drawings, wall papering, painting, and refinished furniture.  She loved gardening and built a large stone grotto, she also enjoyed her plants indoors.  Marjorie loved collecting original snow villages.  She spent parts of her day saying the Rosary and went to Mass daily. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, and was active in many church groups, including sewing, funeral committee, quilting, and prayer groups.  Marjorie kept an interesting journal of her life.  She especially loved entertaining her family.

Marjorie is survived by a son, Joe (Kathy) Myer of Lake City; a daughter-in-law, Sarah Price of East Troy, WI; four grandchildren, one step-grandchild, four great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild to be born in September, three step-great-grandchildren, and twin step great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Moyer of Lake City, and a foster brother, Tony (MaryLou) Befort of Texas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter-in-law, Jean, son, Michael, and a sister, Kaye Wempner.

Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, until the time of service.

Memorials are preferred to St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City.
