The graveside service for Martin "Marty" B. Sawyer will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 26th, at Viola Cemetery in Viola, MN with Rev. Dr. Norman Wahl officiating. Friends and family may visit from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, MN.

Mr. Sawyer, 85, of Elgin, MN died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at his home in rural Elgin.

Martin Bradley Sawyer was born July 16, 1928 in Viola Township, Olmsted County to Avery and Nellie (Dickerman) Sawyer. Marty attended rural Olmsted County Schools and Elgin High School. He lived his entire lifetime in Viola Township. Marty farmed and also drove truck for Don Tiffany for several years. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.

Marty is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Palmer and Betty Sawyer of Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
