Martin "Pete" Hart, 92, of Lake City, died on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Mayo Clinic – Lake City Care Center with his family by his side. He was born on November 29, 1931, in Bellechester, MN to Anton and Pearl (Arendt) Hart. He attended McCahill School in Lake City. Pete served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. On December 18, 1952, he married Rose May Feehan.
Pete was truck driver working for Knudsen Trucking out of Hager City, WI for many years. He enjoyed watching Gun Smoke and could always be found in his garage working on various projects. He was member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church and Lake City VFW Post #8729.
Pete is survived by his four daughters, Diane (Chuck) Dudrey of Pacific Beach, WA, Pam Watson and Kim (Dave) Anderson of Lake City, and Micky (David) Chavarria of St. Paul; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, one son, one daughter, and one grandson.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City, with Father Thé Hoang officiating. The burial will follow the service in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery in Lake City. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.
