Mary Jo Balcome, 76, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.  She was born October 4, 1943 in Oberlin, Ohio to Frank and Enid (Cornwell) Bukovac.  She grew up and attended school in Ohio.  On August 31, 1963 she married Chance Balcome in Las Vegas.

Mary Jo retired from IBM in Rochester.  She was a great mother and homemaker, enjoying time with her family.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she loved to travel and liked going to casinos.

Mary Jo is survived by her loving husband, Chance Balcome of Elgin; children, James (Charlene) Balcome of Plainview, David Balcome of South Dakota, Richard (Michon) Balcome of Mantorville, and Julie Johnson of Zumbro Falls; 13 grandchildren, Mitchell (Trudy) Balcome, Angela ( Dan) Miller, Carter Balcome, Brittany (Carlos) Orellana, Daniel Balcome, Nycolis Setterlund, Alixandria Setterlund, Robert Balcome, Cora Balcome, Evelyn Balcome, Elliott Balcome, Justin Johnson, and Megan Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren, Danica Balcome, Brantley Balcome, Jaxon Balcome, Landon Miller, Alissa Setterlund, Jack Setterlund, Kenzington Orellana, and Marleigh Orellana; sisters, Barbara Landsman of California, Betty Roll, Laura Paxton, and Katrina Bukovac all of Ohio; and a brother, John Bukovac.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and great-grandson, Dylan Setterlund.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26 ^th , at the Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel.  Private family burial will be at a later time.
