Mary Catherine Tesmer, 34, passed away at her home in rural Zumbro Falls, Sunday, July 5, 2020. She was born September 21, 1985 in Rochester to Catherine (Grutzik) and David Tesmer. Mary graduated Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School 5 ^th in her class while participating in soccer, track, drama/plays, speech team, mock trial, math league, FFA, band and yearbook committee. Her hard work and determination allowed her to succeed whether she was in the spotlight or working as a team. Upon receiving her diploma, she went on to study Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Mary lived most of her lifetime in the Zumbro Falls area. She was a waitress and cook at the Zumbro Falls Golf Course. She also cooked at Delila's Café & Catering in Zumbro Falls and worked as a Dairy Maid for the Kevin Funk Farm. In addition to holding several jobs, Mary had a wide range of interests and a passion for learning. She was an avid gardener, talented artist, and proud owner of three dogs. She also loved to read and studied homeopathic medicine, plants, and forestry in her free time. Mary's gifts were limitless, often making hand-made Christmas presents for her siblings and parents.

Mary had an adventurous personality and lived life without fear. Whether raising honey bees or driving her motorcycle, she was a free spirit that was always ready for the next adventure. Her smile would light up the room, and she could easily talk to anyone with her friendly attitude. She will be remembered as a kind-hearted, strong, hard-working person that always brought life to the party.

Mary is survived by her parents, David and Catherine "Kitty" Tesmer of Zumbro Falls; 2 sisters, Joan (Caleb) Diercks of Phoenix, and Carol Tesmer of Minneapolis; 2 brothers, Jacob "Jack" Tesmer of Zumbro Falls, and Theodore "Ted" Tesmer of West Concord; and her paternal grandfather, Edward Tesmer of Lake City.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Lorraine Tesmer, and her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Carol Grutzik.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Zumbro Falls Golf Course on Monday, September 21 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Colleen Hoeft officiating. In the meantime, please share loved memories of Mary at
