The funeral service for Mathew "Jack" Jostock will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3rd, at Grace Lutheran Church, 800 East Silver Lake Drive NE in Rochester, with Pastor Greg Heidorn officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.

Mathew, "Jack" Leroy Jostock, 79, a longtime resident of Hammond, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born July 26, 1935 in Rochester to Mathias and Violet (Gary) Jostock.

Jack attended his early years in school at the Hammond School District, and then attended Rochester High School. On October 11, 1958 he married Joanne Schnell at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview. In 1985 he moved his family to his childhood home in Hammond.

Jack was employed by Crandall Well Drilling, Waters Conley, Witte Transfer, Holiday Inn, the Rochester School District, Anderson Formal Wear, and Samaritan Bethany. He was an avid lover of wrestling, Minnesota football, Rochester Ice Hawks and Rochester Honkers. Jack also loved playing dice games and card games with his wife Joanne.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joanne Jostock of Hammond; his children, Gail (Tom) Cappel of Eyota, Tony (Cheri) Jostock of Delray Beach, FL, Kenneth (Christine) Jostock of Kasson, James (Heather) Jostock of Sun Valley, NV, and Amy (Earle) Story of Hammond; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and his loving companion dog, Sophie Jean. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving granddaughter, Tasia Shelly, and sister, Ruth Whitney.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2nd, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Wednesday.

Memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church, Landscaping Fund in memory of Jack.
