Obituary

God called Michael "Mike" Roger Haley, 76, home on August 5th, 2025. Mike's unwavering strength and endurance carried him through to the end of his battle with cancer. Mike passed from this life into the next at home, just the way he wanted, surrounded by family.

He was born June 25, 1949, to Robert and Arvilla (Smith) Haley in Wabasha, Minnesota.

Michael's family moved from Pepin, Wisconsin to Plainview in 1951 and has resided there ever since.  He Graduated from Plainview High School in 1967.  He then was drafted in the United States Army.  After the military, Mike married Janet Kay Adler in 1970 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview.

Mike worked for Plainview Concrete Products, his families business, up until he started Mike Haley Masonry. After retirement, Mike went to work with his son, Scott, at Darold Berger Masonry to stay busy.

Mike enjoyed traveling to Nevada and Arizona for over 30 years with his wife Jan. He also enjoyed scenic drives, trips to casinos, watching his grandkid's sporting events, hunting, and fishing. Mikes kids kept him busy with various handy man projects, and he was always eager to help.

Mike is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Janet; two sons, Scott (Annie) Haley of Kellogg, and Marty (Susan Detterrera) Haley of Rollingstone; two daughters, Jaime (Steven) Stamp of Rochester, and Shelly (Michael Kieffer) Haley of Dover; one brother, Jim (Pat) Haley of Plainview; Eight grandchildren who he adored, Taylor, Dani, Gracie, Jameson, Macey, Makana, Shania and Tyson. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and four brothers.

The funeral for Mike will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview with Military rites provided by American Legion Post # 179 of Plainview.  Friends and family are welcome to the visitation Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Schleicher Funeral Home, Plainview Chapel, from 1 to 4 P.M. and then for one hour prior to the service at the church.
