Obituary

A Celebration of Life Service for Mona Butler will be held on Thursday, March 27th, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Frontenac Sportsman Club in Frontenac. Mrs. Butler, 74, of Wells Creek Township, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at her seasonal home in Lake City.

Mona Marie Richardson was born March 8, 1940 in Kentucky to Henry and Faye (Lafferty) Richardson. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City. On June 28, 1958 she married Patrick Butler at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Mona lived in the Red Wing area her entire life, and worked as a Day Care Provider for many years. She enjoyed traveling especially to California to see her great friends out there. Mona had a Saturday Coffee Clutch that she looked forward to each week. She also enjoyed going on Casino Trips with her sisters, and playing cards. She loved going camping with her grandchildren, and enjoyed going up North. Mona was a collector of Red Wing Pottery. She was a member of Valley View Assembly of God Church in Lake City.

Mona is survived by two daughters, Diana (Larry) Dettmer and Janey (John) Fuchs both of Lake City; two sons, Mathew "Matt" Butler and Fredrick "Fred" Butler both of Red Wing; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, David Richardson of Brimson, Daniel (Diane) Richardson and Steve (Rita) Richardson both of Lake City; two sisters, Joanne (Rudy) Hinrichs of Red Wing and Carol (Kenny) Hoffman of Hager City, WI; and five step-siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Jim Richardson.
