The funeral service for Nancy P. Gusa will be at11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview with Pastor Terrill Bramstedt officiating. Burial will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.

Mrs. Gusa, 84, of Wabasha and formerly of Elgin, passed away Monday morning, March 21, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center in Wabasha.

Nancy Patsy Overton was born October 7, 1931 in Eyota to Fred and Dorothy Overton. She attended Olmsted and Wabasha County Schools. On October 23, 1953 she married Arnold Gusa in Wabasha. After their marriage they lived in Elgin where they raised their family.

Nancy worked as a regional food manager at Woolworths and waitressed at Panekoeken Restaurant in Rochester for many years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending many hours working in her gardens. In 2012 she moved to Parkside Elder Care in Plainview and in January 2015 she moved to St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center in Wabasha. Nancy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.

Nancy is survived by her children, Dorothy "Dot" Gusa, and Roger (Renee) Gusa both of Elgin; two grandchildren, Trisha (Kurt) Schumacher and Justin (Jenny) Gusa; and five great-grandchildren all of Elgin, Conner, Peyton, and Abigayle Schumacher and Laney & Landon Gusa; one sister, Bonnie Stewart of Salton City, CA; three brothers, David (Rose) Overton of Salton City, CA, Robert (Shirley) Overton of Rochester, and Richard Overton of Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold on February 15, 2005; daughter, Donna on March 19, 2008; one grandson, Joshua; 3 sisters, and 6 brothers.

Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service on Friday, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview.
