The funeral service for Pastor Lynn M. Holm will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29th, at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Plainview, MN with Pastor Tyrone Spenst officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Memorial Gardens in Worthington at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Pastor Holm, 83, of Crystal, MN and formerly of Plainview and Lake City, MN died Tuesday morning, June 25th, at the home of his daughter in Crystal.
Lynn Michael Holm was born February 10, 1930 in Hettinger, ND to Hans and Bernice (Ward) Holm. He moved with his family to northern Minnesota and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1948. Lynn then went on to Northwestern College in Minneapolis from 1948 to 1952, and then attended Denver Seminary in Denver, CO graduating in 1956. On August 12, 1955 he married Marcelyn "Marcie" Anderson in Harlan, IA.
Pastor Holm served a church in Denver, CO for one year, and then in Calumet City and Lansing, IL until 1963. The Holms then served as missionaries in East Africa at Kampala, Uganda. In 1973 they returned to Chicago, IL for one year and then moved to Windom, MN and in 1982 they moved to Lake City, MN. He pastored Baptist Churches in both Windom and Lake City. While living in Windom he was a member of the Kiwanis Club in 1974 and Lake City Kiwanis Club from 1982 – 2001. After retiring in 2001, they moved to Plainview, MN, where he was a member of the Men's Saturday Prayer Breakfast Group. Most recently he moved to be with his daughter, Sherry in Crystal.
Pastor Holm is survived by his daughter, Sherry Daehn of Crystal, MN; three sons, Jonathan (Ruth) Holm of Littleton, CO, Joel Holm of Bunle, Congo Africa, and Brian (Sherri) Holm of Charlotte, NC; 10 grandchildren; four sisters, Avis (Chuck) Pixley of Mora, MN, Sharon (Frank) Haynal of Clio, MI, Janice Walker of Crystal, MN, Ruth Ann (Doug) Forseth of Merrifield, MN; four brothers, Blair (Cecelia) Holm of Redlands, CA, Keith (Diane) Holm of Grand Junction, CO, Otis Holm and Terry (Jeanne) Holm both of Brainerd, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, his wife, Marcie on June 24, 2006, and one daughter, Lynette Hoppe.
Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28th, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, MN and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Saturday.
