Patrick Michael Kane, 39, of Wabasha, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Gunderson St. Elizabeths Hospital in Wabasha. He was born May 13, 1984, in Rochester to Michael and Shelly (Ripka) Kane. He grew up in the Lake City area and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 2002. Patrick married Amanda Ellingson and was later divorced.
Patrick owned and operated Lyon Sleepers in the Lake of the Woods and was an ice fishing guide in the winter months. During the summer months he was employed by Jed Clark Construction out of Lake City. In his free time Pat enjoyed going hunting, fishing, and boating. He loved to travel, playing softball and going to the gym. He was a big family man and especially enjoyed spending time with the love of his life his fiancée and cherished every moment with his kids and loved to have them around.
Patrick is survived by his father, Michael (Lora) Kane of Pine Island; his mother, Shelly Kane of Oronoco; Fiancée, Amanda Wellner of Wabasha; his sons, Brekken Kane and Kelton Kane both of Dodge Center; step-children, Kyla Wellner and Isak Schleusner both of Wabasha; a sister, Amanda (Janet) Ferguson of Wabasha; brothers, Ashley (Toni) Erwin of Stewartville, and Quentin Miland of Spring Valley; step-sister, Danielle (Nate) Warner and step-brother, Lee Topka both of Rochester; nieces and nephews, Jayden Kane, Logan Ferguson, and Madison Ferguson; step-nieces and nephew, Carter, Ellie, and Natalie; and a great-nephew, Layken Kane. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Carol Kane, his maternal grandparents, Sharon (Lee) Lincoln and Eugene Ripka, and an Uncle Patrick Kane.
A visitation and viewing will be held for family and friends on Tuesday, May 30, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel.
The family will host a Celebration of Life Gathering at a later date.
