Patrick "Pat" Lawrence Riley, 80, of Lakeville, passed away Tuesday afternoon May 14, 2024, at Alizah Family Services in Lakeville. He was born on November 2,1943 in Rochester MN to Norbert and Rosella (Darcy) Riley. Pat attended St. Felix High School in Wabasha and served with the United States Air Force as a B52 engine mechanic from 1963-1967. On Dec 29, 1965, he married Janet Fitz at St. Clements Catholic Church in Hammond. Pat and Jan settled down in Lakeville for nearly 50 years.

Pat grew up as a farmer on the Riley Farm in Hammond. After the Air Force, he went to work for Northwest Airlines (later Delta Airlines) as a mechanic until retiring in 2006. He liked living in the country where he had space to work on cars (especially Fords), trucks, and tractors.

Pat loved people and his family. He had stories to tell and places to visit. He liked to race cars and could work on any motor. Pat was involved in Boy Scouts when his son was a teenager. He was involved in many car and tractor clubs. We will miss his stories, the twinkle in his eyes, his easy chatter, his willingness to help anyone who needed it, the fudge he and Jan would make for parties, and seeing him pull up in his RV.

Pat is survived by his daughter Robin (Patrick Mause) Riley of Tucson AZ; son Tom (Tammy) Riley of San Diego CA; seven grandchildren Jake, Ashley, Krystal, Katy, Amber, Nolan, and Vonn; four great-grand-children DJ, Damien, Axel, and Zeke, and siblings Sharon (Larry) of Forest VA, Ruth of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel (Betsy Slattery) of St. Paul MN, and Kevin (Terri) of Granby MO. Pat is preceded in death by wife Jan, brother Ed, and sister Maureen.

The memorial service for Pat will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tues. August 6, 2024, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in West Albany MN. Internment of ashes will be at St. Clements Catholic Cemetery in Hammond MN following the service and lunch. Family and friends are invited to visit from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Church until the time of service.
