The funeral service for Paul L. Schuchard will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, at Grace Lutheran Church, 800 East Silver Lake Drive NE in Rochester with Pastor Greg Heidorn officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
Mr. Schuchard, 92, of Plainview and formerly of Rochester, passed away on Monday morning, September 14, 2015 at Olmsted Medical Center Hospital in Rochester.
Paul Leroy Schuchard was born June 19, 1923 in Elgin to Fred and Agnes (Cain) Schuchard. He grew up and attended Millville School. On February 6, 1953 he married Arlene Zimmerman at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in rural Eyota. Paul lived in Millville and Saint Charles before moving to Rochester in 1980. In 2013 he moved to Plainview. Paul was employed by Patterson Quarry and Sullivan Construction and Road Contractors as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed spending many hours restoring old cars and trucks. Paul was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Rochester.
Paul is survived by his sons, Vernon "Vern" Schuchard of Spring Lake Park, Dale (Kristine) Schuchard of Kasson, and Ranard "Ray" (Kolette) Schuchard of Eyota; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, and Brittany and three great-grandchildren, Erica, Breanna, and Kaden; three sisters, Dorothy Rehfeldt and Florence Komisar both of Millville, and Judy (Wayne) Holton of Jamestown, KS; and one brother, Stanley (Marlene) Schuchard of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Arlene on January 11, 2015, two sisters, and two brothers.
Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
