Phoebe Ann Brunholzl, formerly of Rochester and the surrounding area, passed away in Jesup, Georgia, where she made her home in recent years, on July 1, 2017.
Phoebe Ann Ring was born January 23, 1936, in Wabasha, to John and Phoebe (McMillin) Ring. On December 27, 1954, she married John Kann in Mazeppa; she was widowed August 28, 1959. She married Harold Brunholzl on June 2, 1962, in Bellechester. They were divorced in 1976. Phoebe Ann and Lawrence (Larry) Young married July 7, 2004, and divorced in 2006.
Phoebe Ann had a hardworking entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed work as an insurance agent, real estate appraiser and agent, tax consultant, as well as owning and managing multiple rental properties. She attained a degree as a registered nurse from Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) and worked for Red Cross and other medical facilities before retiring at the age of 75. She enjoyed trail riding, old-time dancing, and attending rodeos.
Phoebe Ann is survived by seven children: Loretta (David) Ellis of Minneapolis, Jack (Elena) Kann of Oronoco, Patricia (John) Roth of Elgin, Mary (Jeffrey) Dobbins of Rochester, Mark (Carla) Brunholzl of Lake City, Catherine (Scott) Benson of Burnsville, Christopher (Charlotte) Brunholzl of Rochester; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Sister Pat MM of New York, NY, Margaret (Ron) Wagner of Bellechester; and a brother, Dr. Leon Ring of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a husband, eight brothers, and one sister.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, at the Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, in Plainview.
