Phyllis Jean Ingersoll, 73, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at her home in the small quiet town of Hammond, MN where she lived with two daughters and one son.
Phyllis (Walker) Ingersoll was born January 1, 1938 in Olmstead County, MN to Cleve and Gretchen (Ferrin) Walker. She grew up in the town of West Concord, MN but the family moved around a lot. At age 17 she married Wayne Ingersoll. They never resided in one area until they finally bought a house in Hammond and that is where they settled with their family of 9 children.
She was a very proud and happy woman. She had a job as the paper route woman in Hammond. Her hobbies included her love for gardening, her cats, reading, napping, baking, and church and Bible study. Phyllis was a faithful member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church of Hammond. Most of all she loved her family and had lots of fun with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She is very loved and will be missed very much.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Sharen Ziemer, Chrissy (Wade) Julson, Linda Ingersoll, Kay Jepson, Lilly Ingersoll, and Robert Ingersoll; grandchildren, Cassie (Tony), Glenn, Kenny, Alicia, Colby, Clinton, Bo, Amanual, Daniel, and Alana; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Riley, Gabriel and Ariana. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, and a missing daughter.
A graveside service was held at St. Clements Catholic Cemetery in Hammond, where she was laid to rest next to her husband, Wayne. All friends and family are welcome to share their condolences at a memorial service in her honor at Bethlehem United Methodist Church located at 19 3rd Avenue South, Hammond, MN on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rick Phillips officiating.
